Governance and Operational Policies
Team practices for U10 and older are held at the discretion of the team coach.
For PMSC Small-Sided games and VUSL House League games:
U6, U8: If the humidex is equal to or greater than 37C - 90 minutes before play, then play shall be cancelled.
U10 and U12 only: If the forecasted humidex is equal to or greater than 37C at 4 pm the day of the game, the game shall be cancelled.
U14, U16, U18 only: If the forecasted humidex is equal to or greater than 40C at 4 pm the day of the game, the game shall be cancelled.
The safety of players, coaches, management and spectators is the primary concern in any weather event that occurs during all matches sanctioned by the CSA.
Ultimately, the referee has the final say over delaying or restarting a match due to weather. Referees are expected to act responsibly when dealing with such events during matches they are controlling.
30/30 RULE: When you see lightning, count the time until you hear thunder. If this time is thirty (30) seconds or less, seek proper shelter. Wait thirty (30) minutes or more after hearing the last thunder before leaving the shelter. If you cannot see the lighting, just hearing the thunder is good backup rule.
The following documents relate to emergency procedures and protocols for field and player checks as well as suspected injury and concussion report remove from and return to sport.
